Team Rygor Takes to the Pitch at Army Football Association Invitational Sixes Tournament

Team Rygor recently stepped onto the field at the Army Football Association Invitational Sixes tournament in Aldershot, continuing its proud support as a sponsor of British Army Sports.

The tournament brought together teams from across the Armed Forces and the corporate sector for a dynamic day of football, camaraderie, and competition.

From the opening whistle to the final match, the event celebrated resilience, teamwork, and sporting excellence. Team Rygor delivered a great performance, with players showing true effort, determination, and passion throughout the day.

Sean Joyce, aftersales director and one of the players, said: “It’s great to get people together from across the Rygor Group to represent our business from different sites and departments. It helps further bring our colleagues together and strengthens our bond as Team Rygor.”

Andy Ledbury, area aftersales manager, added: “It was an absolutely fantastic day at the Army Invitational. It was great to see such a well-rounded team representing Rygor, from Sales, to Parts, and Service and across our businesses. We all had a great time and even managed a couple of wins against some tough teams!”

Rygor Land Systems, part of the Rygor Group, which launched to meet the evolving automotive needs of the Military, Government, and Defence sectors, commenced its sponsorship of Army Sport in 2024. This sponsorship aligns with Rygor Land Systems’ ongoing mission to back the armed forces, providing robust support for soldiers and fostering team spirit and unity through the world of sport. By sponsoring Army Sport, Rygor Land Systems strives to contribute to the well-being of military personnel, whilst recognising the vital role that sports play in enhancing morale, fitness, and cohesion among service members.

Graham Brookland, CEO at Army FA, said: “It is an absolute pleasure to have Rygor Group as a sponsor of Army Football and our Men’s Representative team. The partnership marked a special occasion in its inaugural season as we won the prestigious Constantinople Trophy (Inter Services) for the first time in six years. This is the annual tri service competition with the Royal Navy and RAF which has been competed for over 100 years and a tournament that is the culmination of the season’s work. It is comforting that Team Rygor also enjoyed the Invitational Sixes tournament which also enhances wellbeing and camaraderie too. We are grateful for the support we receive from Rygor Group and look forward to developing a long-term relationship.”

This summer, Rygor Land Systems was also awarded the Silver Award in the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme; a recognition which reflects Rygor’s ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community, including veterans, reservists, and military families. The Silver Award is presented to businesses that demonstrate exemplary efforts in advocating for defence personnel and actively enabling policies that support their integration into civilian careers.
