At Rygor, we believe visibility drives change and in 2025, that change is accelerating. That’s why we are proud to launch #WomenDriveChange, a campaign designed to champion the women who are shaping the future of the automotive sector and to inspire more women and girls to explore the opportunities available within it.
As part of this initiative, we have released our Women in Automotive journal, featuring real stories, career journeys and honest reflections from women across Rygor, Ben – The Automotive Charity, Motor Trader and the wider industry. Their voices highlight the power of representation, challenge outdated perceptions, and showcase the wide range of careers available today.
Representation Matters
As Kate shares, “We need to see things to believe them.” For too long, many women didn’t see themselves represented in automotive, but change is happening.
“I’m seeing so many more women join the sector and look at opportunities within our industry.” – Kate
Emily also recognises her role as a visible example for future generations, “Being a woman in automotive, I feel like I’m in a fortunate position to be that representation for younger women.”
Breaking Outdated Stereotypes
Misconceptions still prevent women from considering automotive careers. Emily notes, “A lot of their perceptions of what automotive is are outdated.”
At Rygor, we are committed to challenging this. Today’s automotive industry includes roles in marketing, HR, fleet, people relations, sales, finance, customer experience, technical roles and more. As Emily puts it, “When you see the roles and the opportunities, you realise there is much more to it.”
Exploring New Pathways
Many women who join the sector are surprised by its career breadth. “I didn’t realise how many opportunities there actually were.” – Sam
Her journey reflects what our campaign aims to highlight: automotive is not just one career, it’s many.
Bringing Strengths and Skills Into Automotive
Women continue to enrich the industry with fresh perspectives and unique expertise. Cherise says, “I love that I can bring my own skills into this industry.”
Her experience echoes what we see across our business, diverse skills strengthen our teams and our industry as a whole.
A Powerful Message for Women Considering Automotive
Elaine offers encouragement to anyone exploring career options, “Women can do whatever they want now.” Her advice is simple and inspiring, “Take all the advice that you can.”
