On the back of its official certification from the Great Place to Work scheme in September 2022, Rygor Commercials has officially been named one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing (2023) by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.
Great Place to Work’s culture experts analysed feedback from Rygor’s team members, to independently assess their personal experiences of wellbeing at work. Rygor team members gave overwhelmingly positive comments about how Rygor supports their work-life balance, and how working for Rygor provides a sense of personal fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security. Evaluations also included an assessment of how well Rygor delivers a consistent employee experience and extols its company culture across all roles, departments, and sites within the multi-franchised Dealer group.
Rygor service advisor, Marie Cummins, said: “Over recent years, Rygor’s wellness programme has really given me the chance to meet and interact with colleagues from across the business. The fitness challenges motivate me to get out and about, and I feel better myself each day I complete a challenge. The chance to meet and interact with other team members through online Coffee Breaks and virtual events means I can show more of my real self, and it feels authentic. The programme has been good for my mental health, as I feel recognised by Rygor and my teammates, and it has helped my physical health and given me the push to carry on with exercise outside of work too.”
Rygor tries hard to weave its company values of being Rewarding, Reliable and Respectful through its employee experience, whether through its bespoke new starter process; advocating personal and career development through its in-house training Hub, encouraging its team to take advantage of Rygor’s dedicated wellness programme and ‘giving back’ through its Charities of the Year initiative, and by utilising its dedicated reward and recognition scheme to let team members know when they’re doing a great job.
And what a great job they do! Last month the business hosted its yearly Setting Standards awards event at Tortworth Court, Wootton-Under-Edge, to shine a spotlight on team members who went above and beyond for Rygor’s customers and for their colleagues during 2022. The business also celebrated the dedication of its long serving team members at its annual Long Service Lunch, held at the prestigious Manor Hotel, Castle Combe. Perhaps the greatest accolade Rygor can receive, is that so many of its team choose to stay at Rygor long-term, and this year, Rygor’s board of directors extended their personal thanks to team members who have given 10 years+ of dedication and loyalty.
Rygor’s team is at the heart of everything the business does. “At the heart of every organisation are its people and looking after their wellbeing should be much more than a package of impressive perks on a careers website,” explains Benedict Gautrey, Managing Director of Great Place to Work® UK.
“We know when employees feel genuinely contented and at ease within their roles, they are much more engaged and productive. Now in our second year of UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list, we’re once again able to showcase the leading organisations providing cultures conducive to outstanding psychological, physical and social wellbeing. A huge congratulations to Rygor for making this prestigious list.”
Managing director, John Keogh, is delighted Rygor has been named as a finalist in the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing (2023) list. John said: “We know that to provide the award-winning customer experience Rygor is known for takes a great team of people, and I really believe that when people are happy doing what they do and feel cared for and valued, they enjoy coming to work. We want to be an employer of choice, a place our employees want to be. It’s fantastic to hear our team feel this way about working for Rygor and it’s always a pleasure to hear their feedback and we continue to listen and learn so we can provide even more of the things that allow them to love coming to work. This year, we opened a special wellness suite at our new site in Reading, something we’re hoping to roll out across more of our sites. This recognition is a very proud moment for the Rygor business and shows our continued commitment to employee experience and wellbeing.”
