At Rygor, we believe in coming together to support causes that make a real difference, and our team members fundraise each year in support of causes close to their hearts, as part of Rygor’s Charities of the Year Programme. Since 2015, we’ve been able to support our chosen charities with donations totalling more than £55,000.00 and we couldn’t have done this without the generosity of our incredible team.
One of Rygor’s nominated charities during 2024 was Macmillan Cancer Support, and mid-way through last year, our People Team (Rygor’s Director of People and Communications, Kate; People Relations Manager, Sam, and Emily, People Team Administrator) signed up to run London Landmarks Half Marathon – the final fundraising event in our 2024 Charities of the Year calendar.
Kate, Sam and Emily have trained really hard (Emily even invested in proper running shoes!) over the past few months, and were fully committed to doing their very best. All three completed the 13.1-mile race, and have so far, raised more than £1860.00 in support of the incredible work Macmillan does. Well done, Team!
Speaking about the challenge, Emily said: “Taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Macmillan was an incredible experience. The support from colleagues, friends, and even strangers along the route kept us going. Knowing we were running for such an important cause made every step (and blister) worth it.”
Sam commented: “At Rygor, we’re passionate about giving back to the community and supporting meaningful causes – helping incredible charities make a real difference to real people. Seeing our team come together to support important causes is a true reflection of our values in action and really spurred us on to the finish line.”
Kate said: “This challenge wasn’t just about raising funds, but also about embracing a healthy and positive mindset – something we actively promote across our whole business. I couldn’t be prouder of Emily and Sam for their dedication, resilience and want to take a moment to thank everyone who has supported us as we prepared to run, completed the run, and recovered from the run!
“Most of all, our thoughts go out to anyone affected by cancer, and we hope the amount we’ve raised will help Macmillan continue provide the exceptional care and support that the charity is renowned for. They truly are heroes. “
Although the race is over, there’s still an opportunity to contribute to this meaningful cause, as the team’s fundraising page remains open, and every donation, big or small, will help Macmillan continue its vital work. Should you wish to, you can donate, here.
A massive congratulations to the People Team on their incredible achievement, and a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has supported their journey. Your generosity and encouragement have made a real impact, and we couldn’t be prouder of our team’s efforts.
